It was India’s turn to bat today on second day of the ongoing series opener against England, however, the much-awaited “Virat Kohli vs James Anderson” battle went in the England pacer’s favour. The Indian skipper left everyone disappointed as he walked back on a first-ball duck in the first England-India Test in Nottingham.
Virat Kohli walked out to bat at number 4 and the crowd went berserk as they created a terrific environment by hooting and cheering. However, the skipper failed to fulfill the expectations of his fans, resuming the battle against England’s James Anderson.
For the unversed, James Anderson troubled Virat Kohli throughout the 2014 series in England, however, the Indian skipper fought back brilliantly during the return tour in 2018, where not just he scored 593 runs across 10 innings but also managed to keep Anderson at bay throughout the series.
However, the battle has once again kickstarted and this time, Anderson was just too good for Virat as the former nicked off on the very first delivery he faced.
Virat registered his fifth golden duck in Test match cricket, which is also his second consecutive duck against England in England in Test cricket.
