Merciless Fans Slammed Sanju Samson For Not Taking DRS

Team India’s wicketkeeper Sanju Samson has found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling after he missed a DRS call during the 2nd T20I match of the ongoing 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

The disappointing incident took place in the eighth over as Dasun Shanaka missed a Kuldeep Yadav delivery while trying to hit the shot. The ball struck the middle of the pad but the on-field umpire turned down the appeal.

Following this, Kuldeep Yadav asked the skipper Shikhar Dhawan to go for the review, however, Sanju Samson felt that the ball was high and would have gone over the stumps. Later on, the replays showed that the ball was crashing through the stumps and team India once again lost the opportunity to get a DRS call right.

However, he later made attempts in the 10th over, pulling off an outstanding stumping  to dismiss the Sri Lankan captain off the same bowler.

Later on, Samson also disappointed everyone with the bat at the international level as he could only manage a painstaking 13-ball 7 in the second T20I against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, fans flooded social media with their reactions to the disappointing performance of Sanju Samson and started slamming the cricketer left, right, and center.

Talking about the game, with only 5 batsmen in their squad, team India scored only 132 runs in their 20 overs. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan played a crucial role as debutants Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devdutt Padikkal showed intent and played a few stunning shots.

However, once they were dismissed, team India struggled to get the scoreboard moving and they eventually lost the game to Sri Lanka by 4 wickets.
