Fans Are Trolling Sri Lankan Team For Not Knowing The DRS Rules

Fans Are Trolling Sri Lankan Team For Not Knowing The DRS Rules: The Indian cricket team is currently locking its horns with Sri Lanka in Colombo in the ongoing third Test match. Even though team India-led by Shikhar Dhawan has already won the ongoing 3-match ODI series by winning the first two matches, however, both teams are fighting it out hard with 10 World Cup Super League points at stake.

Especially, the Sri Lanka cricket team is looking very much determined to win the last game, after having lost the first two games. Their bowlers are fighting back by picking up wickets at regular intervals.

However, the Sri Lankans embarrassed themselves in the 23rd over of the innings when the umpire Kumar Dharmasena adjudged Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav lbw off Praveen Jayawickrama. Well, the batsman went for a sweep shot off the very first ball of the over to wrap on the pads.

Soon after, Surya decided to challenge the decision by making use of the Decision Review System (DRS). Replays confirmed that there was no bat involved in the process but it took an eternity for the ball-tracking technology to arrive. And when the reviews came, it created a lot of confusion in the middle.

The ball-tracking review showed that the impact of the shot was outside the line of stumps with SKY stretching his leg more than 2.5 meters from the stumps as well. However, the decision was overturned once the impact was outside. But, the third umpire surprisingly went ahead to see whether the ball was hitting the stumps, following which Sri Lankan cricketers started celebrating in the middle.

Not just this, even SKY also started walking off thinking that the review has been wasted. However, Kumar Dharmasena had to reverse his decision going by the rules and Sri Lanka’s players were left stunned. Probably they were unaware of the whole impact being outside rule.

Meanwhile, social media was soon flooded with hilarious reactions from the netizens. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone started trolling the Sri Lankan players for the hilarious goof-up.
