India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara has been receiving criticism from all corners. While he isn’t new to criticism or debates about his strike rate or ‘lack of intent’, however, this time the heat is on Pujara like never before. This time the pressure is immense on him as India lost the most crucial Test match, the World Test Championship finale at the hands of New Zealand by 8 wickets.

Brad Hogg Named Cheteshwar Pujara’s Replacement In Indian Test Team

After the WTC defeat, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli hinted at making changes in the Test team after the ICC World Test Championship final loss to New Zealand. Though Kohli didn’t take any precise name, the debate and assumptions around Pujara’s replacement are going on ever since.

Several cricketers and experts have given their opinions on the ongoing debate and the latest one to join the bandwagon is former Australia cricketer, Brad Hogg,

As per Brad Hogg, India’s young batsman Prithvi Shaw is the best candidate to replace Cheteshwar Pujara at number 3. So far, Prithvi Shaw has only played as an opener in the Indian Test team.

Recently, a fan asked Brad Hogg whether KL Rahul would be a perfect candidate to replace Pujara at number 3. Responding to the fan, Hogg backed Prithvi Shaw for the same and heaped praises on him. He wrote:

If anyone was going to replace Pujara it would be Prithvi Shaw. Feel he is more suited there than opening. Has a lot of talent and a long future. He is not in the tour group but a wild card choice,”
