Riding on the performances of their skipper Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor in the last session of the game, the New Zealand cricket team broke all records as they lifted their maiden ICC trophy. The Kane Williamson-led side defeated India by 8 wickets on Day 6 of the World Test Championship Final to become the ultimate Test champions.
The Kiwi players displayed resilience, dedication, and hunger to win the game, throughout the six days of the WTC Final. They gave brilliant performances in all the departments of the game. On the other hand, it won’t be wrong to say that Virat Kohli and his squad failed to give the best of their abilities.
The Kiwis had many heroes throughout the game, however, it was Kane Williamson (52) and Ross Taylor (47), who took their side to the victory. They formed a brilliant partnership of 92 runs to chase down the target of 139 runs. The New Zealand cricket team defeated all odds and grabbed the maiden WTC trophy.
After New Zealand won their maiden ICC trophy, Kane Williamson had his trademark smile on his face, which was followed by a hug from his mate Ross Taylor as they celebrated their win in a very low-key manner.
Meanwhile, as soon as the Kane Williamson side won the WTC Final, social media was flooded with amazing reactions from the fans. Though the result was a disappointment for the Indian cricket lovers, however, the fans were happy for Kane Williamson and his team. Fans came up with amazing tributes and posts for the New Zealand side.
