The Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli is all set to lock horns with Kane Williamson-led New Zealand in the much-awaited final of the World Test Championship, which will kickstart from June 18 to June 22 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

Ahead of the game, team India is currently playing an intra-squad game in Southampton. For the game, team India is divided into two teams. One team is led by India’s regular captain Virat Kohli and features all the main batsmen.

On the other hand, KL Rahul is the skipper of the second team, which has all the main bowlers along with the batters who are unlikely to make it to the Playing XI in the WTC final.

The intra-squad has brought some good news for the fans as the young and talented Rishabh Pant has adapted well to the England conditions. Recently, he played an unbeaten knock of 121 runs off just 94 balls in the practice match. Apart from him, Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja also gave decent performances as they scored 85 and 54 respectively.

Talking about the performances of the bowlers, Mohammed Siraj and Ishant Sharma have been ruling the charts. On Day 2 of the intra-squad match, Ishant picked three wickets while giving 36 runs. On Day 3, it was Siraj who scalped two wickets while conceding 22 runs.

Impressed with the performances of Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj in the nets and in the intra-squad game, Indian skipper Virat Kohli hailed both the cricketers in a very special Instagram post.

On Monday, Virat took to his Twitter and shared a picture of himself with Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj and heaped praises on both the seamers. He wrote:

“These quicks are dominating everyday”.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is yet to decide on its bowling unit. Team India has plenty of bowling options at their disposal and it will be tough for the Indian skipper and team management to chose five bowlers for the WTC final.
