New Zealand cricket team lost the World Cup 2019 at the hands of the England cricket team, who lifted their maiden World Cup trophy by beating New Zealand, based on the maximum number of boundaries.

New Zealand’s fast bowler Lockie Ferguson has admitted that his side was informed of the controversial boundary count rule at the start of the 2019 World Cup, however, he also added that no one had any idea that the World Cup would actually be decided on that bizarre rule.

Lockie Ferguson also talked about the World Cup 2019’s semi-final against India and claimed that the understanding between both the teams before the second day seemed to be that India had the upper hand.

During the semi-final match, New Zealand beat India by 18 runs in a low-scoring encounter in the ODI World Cup two years ago. Calling the match one of the craziest games he has ever played, the pacer said:

“It was one of the craziest games I’ve ever played — over two days,”

New Zealand Player Reveals Why India Lost The WC 2019 Semi-Final

He expressed how the team felt that the Indian cricket team knew that the team hadn’t got enough. He revealed how he had told his girlfriend that they had nothing to lose. He also pointed out the fact where Team India lost the game. He said:

“We got the feeling from India that they knew we hadn’t got enough, with their batting attack. At night, we were sleeping on our total of 240, and my girlfriend asked me if I was nervous. I told her we had nothing to lose,”

He added:

“The next day, Trent Boult and Matt Henry bowled one of the best opening spells to knock the top off and put all the pressure back on India. It was a great game to win,”
