Bangladesh’s star player Mushfiqur Rahim has stirred a new controversy after a video of him went viral on social media from the second ODI match against Sri Lanka. Though, Rahim stole the show with his masterclass performance with the bat as he scored 125 runs enabling Bangladesh to post 246 runs. However, he did something unpleasant that has put him in the spotlight.

However, more than his performance with the bat, his antics from behind the stumps became the talk of the town after a video of him went viral on social media. In the video, Rahim can be heard asking his bowler to push the non-striker down, if he comes in front. Yes, you read that right.

In the video, the stump-mic has caught Rahim instructing off-spinner Mehidy Hasan in Bengali. He said: “Push him to the ground, if he comes in front,”

The video of the same has been making rounds on the internet and has created a stir on social media. Here, watch the video:

Talking about the game, Rahim smashed 125 runs off 127 deliveries to help the hosts reach 246 before being all out in the 49th over of the match. Dushmantha Chameera stole the show with his bowling, as he finished with figures of three for 44.

Chasing the target, Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals and was at 126 for nine after 38 overs before rain stopped the game. After the break, Sri Lanka’s innings were reduced to 40 overs. Eventually, Sri Lanka lost the game by 103 runs as Bangladesh took a lead of 2-0 in the ongoing three-match series. The final match will be played on Friday at the same venue.
