Chennai Super Kings’ young cricketer Sam Curran has impressed one and all with his all-around performances. On Saturday, when CSK locked horns with Delhi Capitals in their first outing of IPL 2021, Sam’s batting masterclass helped CSK to post a total of 188/7 up against Rishabh Pant’s side.
Suresh Raina made a powerful comeback and scored a sensational fifty before Sam walked out to bat and stole the show. He took on the bowlers in the death overs to help CSK reach 188.
Fans and experts are all praises for the young cricketer. Among many, a CSK fan with the username ‘@BillgatesBillu’ shared an amazing tweet dedicated to Sam Curran, which has gone crazily viral on social media. In his tweet, ‘@BillgatesBillu’ compared Curran to former South African and CSK cricketer Albie Morkel and claimed that Morkel’s replacement has been ‘found’.

? For the uninitiated, Albie Morkel was one of the most significant players of CSK. He impressed one and all with his all-around abilities in the initial years of IPL, while playing for the yellow army. His timely contributions both with the bat and the ball used to make a difference for the yellow army. However, after a dip in his form, Albie soon faded into oblivion. But seems like, Chennai Super Kings have finally found his replacement in Sam Curran.
Sam turned out to be a hero for the Chennai Super Kings when they seemed pretty hapless in the UAE and finished second from bottom and since then, there have been no turning backs for the cricketer. He gave it all to CSK in the previous season and scored 186 runs in the CSK middle order with an average above 23 and a strike rate over 130 in the 14 matches he played last season. He also picked up 13 wickets during the tournament. It would be interesting to see how the cricketer performs in this season of IPL.
