Riding on the stunning performances of Harshal Patel and AB de Villiers, RCB won the season opener, defeating the defending champions Mumbai Indians by 2 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. RCB players gave a stunning performance and stole the show in the last ball thriller.
Glenn Maxwell, who came under the scanner of critics after his poor form in the last season where he played for Punjab Kings. He could only score 108 runs from 13 games he played. However, the cricketer made a stunning debut for RCB in the season opener.
Maxwell walked-out to bat at number 4 position and took the game by storm as he smashed some stunning shots. Playing a stunning knock, Maxwell smashed 39 runs off 28 balls, smashing 3 fours and 2 sixes.
