With only six days to go for the much-awaited season of the Indian Premier League, the anticipation and excitement among the fans have been increasing with every passing day. However, ahead of the tournament, the Delhi-based franchise has suffered a huge blow as their all-rounder Axar Patel has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Axar Patel recently tested positive for Coronavirus and the same has handed a massive blow not only to the franchise but to the BCCI as well, as they were ensuring to keep the players away from the deadly infection.

Speaking to ANI, sources in the DC camp confirmed the same, “Unfortunately, Axar has tested positive. He is isolating and all protocols are being followed,” Axar is the second player after Kolkata Knight Riders’ Nitish Rana tested positive for COVID-19.

Axar Patel along with other Delhi Capitals’ players was in Mumbai as their opening game is scheduled to take place in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. But notably, Axar was only serving the quarantine period and hadn’t joined the bio-bubble and thus, the other teammates are safe.

Here, check out how fans reacted to the news:
