The Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya made a dream debut in the ongoing 1st ODI match against England in Pune. It was an emotional day for Krunal Pandya as he remembered his father and broke down into tears.
The Mumbai Indians‘ star all-rounder walked out to bat at number 7 and took the game by storm from the first ball he faced. He got to his 50 in just 26 balls as he provided the late impetus to India. Krunal’s stunning knock was laced with seven fours and two sixes. After he smashed his half-century, an emotional Krunal Pandya dedicated his knock to his father.

Later, after the match, during the interview with Murali Kartik, all that Krunal Pandya could manage to say was “This one is for my dad. It was very emotional.” Krunal then broke down in tears and Kartik asked him to take his time.
Krunal asked for the interview to be cut short and the cameras moved away from him. This is when his younger brother Hardik Pandya went up to him and gave him a tight hug.
“The emotions well up. He has lost his father just months ago, so the emotions are raw. It was great of Murali Kartik to not carry on with the proceedings and allow him to go and prepare to bowl,” said Sunil Gavaskar a little later.
This emotional moment left everyone with teary eyes. The video of the same has been going viral on social media and has made everyone emotional.

For the unversed, Krunal and Hardi Pandya’s father passed away at the age of 71 in January this year after he suffered a cardiac arrest. Krunal, who was leading his Baroda team in the Syed Mushtaq Trophy, had left the tournament to be there with his family members during that tough time.
Meanwhile, fans on social media couldn’t hide their emotions after watching Krunal’s interview. Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:
