Indian politician and spokesperson for the Indian National Congress, Sanjay Jha has questioned Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli for not speaking up in favor of former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer in the ongoing controversy.

For the unversed, Wasim Jaffer, who was was the coach of the Uttarakhand cricket team, has recently stepped down from his position claiming that he was mistreated by the management and his recommendations were not being adhered to.

Soon after he resigned, some CAU officials leveled communal allegations against Jaffer, claiming that the domestic cricket stalwart was trying to create a religious divide within the team. However, Wasim Jaffer has rubbished the allegations and has termed them as completely ‘baseless’. He also claimed that if this was the case. he wouldn’t have resigned rather he would have been sacked.

Wasim also took to his Twitter and shared a few facts, explaining his side of the story. In his tweet, he also revealed that he resigned from his position because of the biased selectors-secretary for non-deserving players. He wrote:

“1. I recommended Jay Bista for captaincy not Iqbal but CAU officials favoured Iqbal.
2. I did not invite Maulavis
3. I resigned cos bias of selectors-secretary for non-deserving players
4. Team used to say a chant of Sikh community, I suggested we can say “Go Uttarakhand” #Fact”

The tweet soon went viral and was flooded with reactions from Twitterati on this. Several fans, experts, fans, and cricketers including Irfan Pathan, Anil Kumble, took to their social media and backed the former Indian cricketer.

Among many, Mr. Sanjay Jha also took to his Twitter and voiced his thoughts on the matter. In his tweet, Sanjay questioned Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, and Anil Kumle for not speaking up for Wasim Jaffer.

Sanjay also took a dig at these cricketers and asked them he can draft a tweet for them that they can copy-paste and asked them to give their opinions just like they did during the farmers’ protest. He wrote:

“Dear @sachin_rt @imVkohli @anilkumble1074 @ImRo45
Will you all please speak up for Wasim Jaffer? If you need any help, I will draft the tweet for you, which you can copy- paste. Your action needs to be on Twitter, public, like during the farm protests.
I await your response.”
