Indian batting legend Virender Sehwag hailed young Indian batsman Shubman Gill after his heroic performance on day 5 of the ongoing fourth and final test match at the Gabba. Shubman Gill was looking in the best of his form as he stirred India’s run-chase with a gutsy performance against Australia.

The young opener joined hands with India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara and took the game by storm. The duo showcased immense fighting spirit by successfully countering Australian bowlers with their resolute batting. While, Pujara frustrated the Australians with his determined batting, on the other hand, Gill showcased the best of his abilities as he smashed the bowlers to all the corners of the ground and kept the scores ticking.

However, the amazing partnership came to an end after
Gill was dismissed on 91 runs, where he smashed 8 fours and 2 sixes.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag took to his Twitter and posted a hilarious tweet while hailing the brilliance of Shubma Gill. In his tweet, Sehwag took a hilarious dig at the Australian cricket team in his trademark style.

Sehwag recreated the poster of 1991 Bollywood film ‘Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin’ starring Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt and wrote ‘Gill Hai Ke Manta Nahin’ instead. Further, Sehwag heaped praises on team India for the great start to the day and hoped that two more sessions like this so that the team can retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the third consecutive time. Sehwag wrote:

“Australia gave it everything in the session, but they must be saying ” Gill hai ki Maanta Nahi”. Great start to the day for India, two more of such sessions and we retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy for the 3rd time in succession.”
