Team India is currently gearing up for the much-awaited bilateral series against Australia, which is just around the corner. Ahead of the series, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan on Tuesday confirmed that Team India will be wearing the retro kid of 1992 World Cup for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, which will kickstart from November 27.
Shikhar Dhawan took to his Twitter and shared a picture of himself wearing the new jersey. He came up with an interesting caption as he showed the new jersey. He wrote:
“New jersey, renewed motivation. Ready to go.”

Talking about the new jersey, it has a darker shade of blue than more recent national team jerseys. In fact, the new jersey is drawing a comparison with the 1992 World Cup’s jersey. The jersey also carries the name of ‘MPL Sports’, who are the new Kit sponsors of BCCI.
Meanwhile, the new jersey became the talk of the town, and going by the reaction of fans on social media, seems like the fans are already in love with the retro themed Indian jersey. However, there were many who weren’t too impressed with the new jersey and trolled the BCCI.
Well, team India aren’t the only ones who will be seen wearing new jersey, the Australian cricket team will sport new jersey too in the upcoming T20 series against India. The hosts will be wearing the specially-designed Indigenous shirts in the upcoming T20I series. Recently, Cricket Australia unveiled the new jersey and the fans just can’t stop but campare the two jerseys.
Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:
1992 World Cup jersey replica. Perhaps the best Indian jersey ever. Certainly very high recollection that being the first CWC telecast in India at high quality by private TV channels. https://t.co/9woWlFjfhr

No other cricket board has a jersey as shitty as @BCCI jersey. Notice either the sponsor name is printed or the country name. Only Indian jersey has this kind of mess. https://t.co/G8ckPPAsgT pic.twitter.com/RKHJTZ3F6j
