Mohammad Kaif Named A Player Who Can Be A’ Valuable Asset’ For Team India In T20Is: Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the key players of Team India in the longest format of the game, however, it has been long since he represented team India in the limited-overs format. It was in the year 2017 when Ashwin played his last game in T20Is came against West Indies in July, while he played his last ODI in June 2017 against West Indies.
With the T20 World Cup happening next year, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has named a player who he feels could prove to be a ‘valuable asset’ for team India in the shortest format of the game.
On Wednesday, Mohammad Kaif took to his social media and shared his opinion claiming R Ashwin could be an asset for the Indian side in the shortest format of the game. He explained how Ashwin dismissed some of the big hitters in the powerplay overs only in the just concluded 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, where he was representing his team Delhi Capitals.
In the just-concluded 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, Ashwin turned out to be one of the biggest assets for Delhi Capitals. Some of the big wickets that Ashwin took during his stint in IPL 2020 included the names of Virat Kohli, Kieron Pollard, Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Steve Smith, and many more. As per Mohammad Kaif, Ashwin’s performances should be read and re-read for the shortest format of the game. Kaif wrote:
“Virat, Rohit, Pollard, Gayle, Warner, QDK, Karun, Buttler, Smith, Paddikal, Pooran. Read and re-read @ashwinravi99’s list of big scalps from IPL 13, mostly in power plays. Feel Ash can still be a valuable asset for India in T20Is.”
