A Legal Notice Has Been Issued Against Virat Kohli And Sourav Ganguly: At a time when the richest and the most popular league in the world – the Indian Premier League is being sponsored by a fantasy game application called Dream11 and when 60 percent of commercial time on live TV is about fantasy game applications, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has issued notices against the Indian cricketers. The Dream11 application is endorsed by MS Dhoni and several national stars like Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Well, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly, seem to have landed in some unnecessary trouble after a Chennai-based advocate has filed a plea in Madras High Court seeking a ban on ‘online gambling’. A bench consisting of Justices N Kirubakaran and B Pugalendhi issued the notices to both the cricketers for endorsing such online gambling applications.

Besides Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly, the bench has also issued the notices to even actors including the likes of Prakash Raj, Tammana, Rana, and Sudip Khan as well as other such apps.

For the unversed, it all started after a case was filed by Advocate Mohammed Rizvi after a youth committed suicide in the state after losing money in such applications.

While, Virat is seen promoting an application called MPL, on the other hand, Sourav Ganguly endorses My Circle 11. S. Muthukumar’s writ petition in Madras High Court discreetly mentions My11Circle and MPL.

“The apps are in the name of IPL teams such as Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and some apps are also in the name of state’s names. Are these teams playing on behalf of the state,” asked the bench.

Further, the bench accused the owners of these apps of using celebrities for the sake of earning crores. The mentioned names including Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly need to respond to the notice by November 19.
