The much-awaited season of the Indian Premier League might turn out to be an absolute disaster for Chennai Super Kings. With only a few days left before the tournament starts, the Super Kings have found themselves in between a complete mess.
While other franchises have already started their preparations for the preparations for IPL 2020 have already begun, on the other hand, Chennai Super Kings are still in their Quarantine period. Recently, after their 13 members of their CSK squad including two players — Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad– were tested positive for Coronavirus.
Making things worse for the team, Suresh Raina sensationally pulled out of the upcoming season, citing personal reasons. And if all this wasn’t enough, seems like another blow for the team is on its way.
If the reports are to be believed then the veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh might miss IPL 2020. As per the reports, Harbhajan Singh is scheduled to fly for Dubai on Tuesday however, the Coronavirus cases have left him worried.
A source close to the player revealed:
“Harbhajan is due to join the team on Tuesday. But the situation with Chennai Super Kings currently, has left him very worried. He may rejig his schedules or even decide to skip the IPL this year,”
Harbhajan Singh had also missed the pre-season camp earlier this month, which was held from August 15 to 20.
This year, IPL was scheduled to be played entirely in UAE because of the rising Coronavirus situation in India. Though the schedule of the league isn’t out yet, a total of 60 matches will be played across three formats – Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. With the season kickstarting from September 19 and the final taking place on November 10.
