Twitterati React After Prithvi Shaw Got Out For Duck In First Innings

The Indian opening batsman Prithvi Shaw once again left his fans disappointed after he failed to perform in the ongoing first day-night match against Australia.

Before the much-awaited first day-night Test match between India and Australia finally kickstarted at Adelaide, the Indian cricket team won the toss and chose to bat first. However, the team started off on the worst note possible as they lost their opening batsman on a duck.

Prithvi Shaw gave amazing performances against New Zealand earlier this year and this is one of the reasons he was picked over cricketers like Shubman Gill and KL Rahul, despite his poor performances in the warm-up game that took place ahead of the ongoing first Test match. Yes, Shaw didn’t have a great time in the practice games, as he ended up scoring 0, 19, 40, and 3.

On the other hand, Gill outscored Prithvi Shaw and other contenders to grab the opener’s slot. Shubman Gill’s amazing performances during the two practice games had of the four-match Test series against the Australian cricket team made him the frontrunner to partner Mayank Agarwal as India’s opener for the first test. Gill started off poorly with 0 and 29, however, in the second practice match, Shubman scored 43 and 65 runs.

However, the team decided to go with Prithvi Shaw, who once again failed to give the best of his capabilities.

Meanwhile, the fans on social media are trolling Prithvi left, right, and center. From hilarious memes to tweets slamming the performance of the opener, fans are leaving no stone unturned while trolling Shaw for his poor show. There are many who are slamming the Indian skipper for picking Shaw over the inform batsmen KL Rahul and Shubman Gill.

Here, check out how twitterati are trolling Prithvi Shaw:
