The skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Dinesh Karthik recently opened up about the exit of former opener Chris Lynn. The explosive opener from Australia has been associated with Kolkata Knight Riders since 2014 and had become an integral part of the team before he was released last year by the franchise.

In fact, Chris Lynn was one of the batting mainstays in the last two seasons of the league. In 2018, Chris amassed 491 runs with the help of 3 fifties at a strike-rate of more than 13. His performances helped the KKR team to make it to the playoffs. In 2019 edition of the league, he turned out to be the most consistent batsmen, scoring 405 runs in 13 games, including 4 fifties.
However, KKR decided to end their association with Chris Lynn, who was later bought by Mumbai Indians in the auction. And as the much-awaited season will kickstart soon, skipper Dinesh Karthik stressed that the decision to release Chriss Lynn wasn’t an easy one.

DK also revealed that the franchise only released the cricketer to find the right dynamics and team combination. He revealed:
“I think Chris Lynn, whatever time he spent with KKR, he is an absolute gun, he has done so well for them over a period of time. But so are the dynamics of an auction you need to let go of some players to change the dynamics of the game. It was actually with a heavy heart we let Lynny go. He was someone whom I was very fond of as a personality,”
He added:
“We are a very aggressive team, we will stick to that style and make sure we play it with a smile on our face though,”
Meanwhile, the upcoming season of the IPL will kickstart from September 19 in UAE.
