A Farewell Match For All Recently Retired India Cricketers: Irfan Pathan

After the legendary keeper-batsman MS Dhoni announced his retirement recently, his fans are demanding a farewell match for him. A full-fledged debate has started over the farewell match of MS Dhoni with several cricketers sharing their opinions on the same.
The latest one to weight his opinion on the matter is former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, who came up with a brilliant suggestion.

Irfan Pathan, who announced his retirement from the cricket world earlier this year, recently, took to his twitter and suggested that ‘charity-cum-farewell game’ between a team comprising retired Indian cricketers who never received a proper farewell against the current Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli. He wrote:
“Many people are talking about a farewell game for retired players who didn’t get a proper send-off from the game. How about a charity cum farewell game from a team consisting of retired players vs the current Indian team?”
Not just this, Irfan Pathan also came up with the playing XI of the biggest match-winners, who never received a farewell game. The names of Irfan Pathan’s playing XI consists of – Gautam Gambhir (retired in 2018), Virender Sehwag (retired in 2014), Rahul Dravid (retired in 2012), VVS Laxman (retired in 2012), Yuvraj Singh (retired in 2019), Suresh Raina (retired in 2020), MS Dhoni (retired in 2020), Irfan Pathan (retired in 2020), Ajit Agarkar (retired in 2007), Zaheer Khan ((retired in 2015), Pragyan Ojha (retired in 2020)

Meanwhile, a senior BCCI official recently told a news agency that they are willing to host a farewell match for MS Dhoni. He had said:
“There is no international series right now, maybe after IPL we will see what can be done because Dhoni has done a lot for the nation and he deserves all the respect. We always wanted to have a farewell match for him but Dhoni is a different player. He announced his retirement when nobody was thinking of it,”
