However, not many are aware of the fact that it was Dwayne Bravo was the reason behind Mumbai Indians buying the all-rounder. In fact, it was Bravo who almost forced Mumbai Indians to get Pollard and played a crucial role in giving Kieron Pollard a major breakthrough in the Indian Premier League.
Recently, during a chat with Harsha Bhogle, Dwayne Bravo revealed that when Mumbai Indians were looking out for a replacement for him, he came up with a suggestion for the franchise and asked them to go for Kieron Pollard. However, Mumbai Indians failed to buy Kieron Pollard and they ended up signing Dwayne Smith.
But in the following year, during the Champions League in Hyderabad, Bravo suggested Pollard’s name yet again because of his impeccable performances for Trinidad & Tobago, where he smashed  146 runs in five innings for Trinidad & Tobago at a blistering strike rate of 197.29. This is the reason why Bravo suggested the franchise to pick him and they finally did and got Pollard at that time was of USD 200,000.
