Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is the most successful skippers in the history of the Indian cricket team. Under his leadership, the Indian cricket team achieved many milestones and reached the number 1 spot, having won all the prestigious ICC Trophies. He made the Indian cricket team a force to be reckoned in the cricket world.
MS Dhoni is known for his cool as a cucumber personality and dignified nature. There are not about occasions when he found himself amidst a controversy because of something he has said because he is a man of words. In the initial phase of the career, MS Dhoni used to indulge in media interactions but now he likes staying away from the media and there’s a big reason behind this which was revealed by a popular anchor-cum-author in his book Democracy XI.
The journalist revealed that MS Dhoni’s parents don’t like to indulge in media conversations after what happened after the 2007 World Cup debacle when his house was attacked. The journalist also revealed another incident, where he gave an interview to ESPNcricinfo in which he spoke about managing senior cricketers in the team, however, his words were twisted by many different media and websites and were presented in a different light.
After this, MS Dhoni did not give any exclusive interviews to the media. It is also the reason why he doesn’t like appearing in TV chat shows either, despite being called many times by many channels.
Also after the 2013’s spot-fixing controversy, several media houses claimed that MS Dhoni was involved in spot-fixing and that haunted the former Indian skipper. In his book, the journalist even pointed out one quote which was told by MS Dhoni during a post-match conference where he said that he had to draw a line. MS Dhoni had said that it is ok to criticize him but not ok to accuse him of something he couldn’t digest.
