During the tournament, he also played an unbeaten knock of 84 runs which helped England tie the final match, which was later gone to Super Over. Ben Stokes went on to mark his brilliance in the Super Over as well, where he scored 15 runs.

After a few weeks of his match-winning knock, Ben Stokes gave another blinder  in the Ashes Test at Headingley, where he scored a fantastic 135*

On Wednesday, Ben Stokes was awarded the Wisden Leading Cricketer of the Year 2019. He became the first-ever cricketer from England to have won this award ever since 2005. In 2005, Andrew Flintoff got the award after his fantastic performance in the 2005 home Ashes.

Besides this award, the five Wisden cricketers of the year were announced, that included the names of Jofra Archer, Marnus Labuschagne, Pat Cummins, Ellyse Perry and Simon Harmer.
