Twitterati React To The Collapse Of Indian Batsmen In First Ind vs Aus ODI

The decision of Virat Kohli to demote himself down the batting order in order to make way for KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan in the playing XI both failed miserably during the first ODI against Australia. The visitors kept the Indian cricket team under-par scored and restricted them to a total of 255 runs.

Before the match started the Australian skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to field first. The Australian cricket team kickstarted the game with a bang taking the big wicket of Rohit Sharma in the fifth over of the game. Rohit Sharma went back to pavilion after scoring 10 runs off 15 balls.

Virat Kohli promoted KL Rahul ahead of him and the decision backfired. Shikhar Dhawan also struggled a lot with his strike-rate initially but soon he gained his lost form and sent the ball to all the corners of the ground. He scored 74 runs in 91 balls, smashing 9 fours and 1 six.

KL Rahul, on the other hand, was able to continue with his great form and scored 47 off 61 balls. However, just when both the cricketers settled and were looking in a mood to hit the bowlers of Australia brutally, KL Rahul suffered a soft dismissal.

This is when Indian batsmen slipped down the slope and disappointed everyone. Shikhar Dhawan soon made his way to the pavilion. The Indian skipper also failed to leave the mark with his performance today as he also got out cheaply. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja tried to add the finishing touches but could only score 28 and 25 respectively.

Twitter was soon flooded with reactions on Indian batsmen collapsing in the first innings. Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:
