India will host Australia in a three-match ODI home series starting January 14 in Mumbai. On the eve of the first ODI in Mumbai, the Indian team was involved in a rigorous practice session carrying out their regular drills to further hon their skills before a cracker of an ODI series in prospect. In the pre-match conference, Indian skipper Virat Kohli addressed the media upon what can be expected from the ODI series between two of the best teams in the world. Kohli even gave an insight into his preparations before the match and on his duels facing Jasprit Bumrah in the nets.

Kohli was of the opinion that regards Bumrah as the most skilfull bowler across formats. The 31-year old even went onto mention how the Indian speedster brings the match intensity even during the net sessions by giving his ultimate best.

‘He isn’t shy of hitting us in the nets’, Kohli was quoted as saying by timesnownews.com.

Virat, who has been quite vocal about the difference that Bumrah can create with his impact in the team, believed that it isn’t easy to score off Bumrah even in the nets. He even conceded that he has rarely succeeded against the pace bowler during any of the nets in the past four years.

“It isn’t often that you get to hit boundaries off Jasprit. I saw him going back to his marker to bowl another delivery but I got out of the nets,” Kohli said.

He even cited the occasions when he has been successful in getting boundaries against Bumrah. He mentioned that it was either before the Adelaide Test in 2018 or in today’s practice session that he was able to get the better of the Gujarat pacer.
