Harsha Bhogle Picks His Three Best Indian Fielders

The glamour names in the game of cricket have tended to be batters or bowlers but it’s the ‘catches’ that wins the matches. Fielding is seen and regarded as the third aspect of the game, however, good fielding saves the day for the team. There have been many incidents when the fielders have helped the team win important tournaments and matches.

There was a time when the Indian cricket team was deemed to be one of the weakest teams as far as fielding was concerned. However, tables have turned now. With the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Kaif, Suresh Raina, to many others, the Indian cricket has produced gems of fielders, who have always helped team India dominate the games.
Recently, popular Indian commentator and cricket analyst, Harsha Bhogle took to his Twitter and shared the names of three best Indian fielders according to him. He also named 10 other fielders who are touched by the brilliance that included the names of Suresh Raina, Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj Singh among many others. While in the top three, he picked the names of Eknath Solkar, Mohd Azharuddin and Ravindra Jadeja.

In his second tweet, Harsha Bhogle revealed an incident when Tony Cozier told him about India’s best fielding side to visit West Indies was in the year 1952-53. He wrote:
“Tony Cozier told me the 1952-53 side to the West Indies was an unbelievable fielding side. This from GS Ramchand “It was said it was the best Indian fielding side to visit the West Indies, with JM Ghorpade, CV Gadkari, Polly Umrigar, DK Gaekwad, Madhav Apte and myself”
