The ugly fight between India cricket team and Bangladesh cricket team after the ICC U19 World Cup 2020 final. It was disappointing to see young cricketers who ate going to be future stars of their respective nations indulge in such an ugly clash in the most prestigious cricket tournament in the world.
According to a report in the Press Trust of India, as soon as the final of ICC U19 World Cup 2020 ended, Bangladeshi players came rushing to the ground and most of them displayed aggressive body language. One Indian player also rushed to confront and pushed a Bangladeshi player who had allegedly said uncharitable things. It was all very tensed in the middle as the battle between bat and ball turned violent and there was a clear physical altercation in the middle.

Both the captains offered their apologies after the match.
“I don’t know exactly (about the incident) but what happened should not have. In the final, emotions can come out and sometimes the boys were getting pumped. As a youngster, it should not be happening. In any manner, we have to show respect to our opponents and we should have respect for the game because cricket is known as the gentleman’s game. So, I’ll be sorry for my team,” said Bangladeshi skipper Akbar Ali.
“We were easy. Winning and losing is a part and parcel of the game. But the reaction from the other side was bad. That should not have happened,” said India captain Priyam Garg in the post-match press conference.
Well known cricket commentator and one of the sanest voices in cricket, Mr. Harsha Bhogle also expressed his views on the unfortunate incident through his Twitter account.
“The one thing I would like young cricketers to imbibe is that once the contest is over, you shake hands with the opponent. It is one of the enduring aspects of our game & it cannot be disrespected. I hope the BCCI and the BCB feel the need to drive the point home to their players,” Harsha Bhogle wrote on Twitter.

“And sledging is something to be abhorred. I would rather these young players worked on the extraordinary skills they have been blessed with than get distracted by the need to be abusive. It isn’t cool,” Harsha Bhogle added.
