Twitterati Are Hailing Rohit Sharma For Taking MS Dhoni’s ‘Revenge’

The Indian cricket team defeated New Zealand in a thrilling super-over to seal the series by 3-0 in Hamilton. It was another super-over and another defeat for the New Zealand cricket team.

After losing their chance of winning the World Cup by their unfortunate defeat in super-over by England, New Zealanders found themselves in a similar situation when they met to lock horns with the Indian cricket team in the T20I series-deciding match.

Team India needed 10 off 2 deliveries, Rohit Sharma was on strike and Tim Southee was handed the ball. Rohit Sharma smashed back to back sixes and team India won the match with 20/0 in the Super Over outsmarting Kane Williamson side’s target of 18.

Team India’s win against New Zealand with complete domination, is also being hailed as the revenge of MS Dhoni’s unfortunate run-out in the semi-finale of World Cup 2019.

Twitterati Are Hailing Rohit Sharma For Taking MS Dhoni’s ‘Revenge’

Team India had registered 7 dominant victories in the World Cup tournament over teams like South Africa, Australia, and Pakistan, until the semi-final loss. Had it not been for that one throw from Martin Guptill which ran out MS Dhoni, India would have lifted the 50-over World Cup trophy at Lords.

And what can be a better way to take revenge for MS Dhoni’s run-out then finishing the game in a typical Dhoni style — by pulling off a six. Twitterati are celebrating the nail-biting victory of Team India and are lauding the performance of Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Shami.
