Steve Smith, the world’s number one batsmen, continues to shine and break records with his impeccable performances. On Friday, the Australian cricketer became the fastest man to score 7,000 Test runs, shattering the 73-year-old record.
While breaking the record of Don Bradman, Steve became Australia’s 11th highest scorer. During the second Test against Pakistan in Adelaide, batting alongside David Warner, Steve Smith achieved the milestone by taking a single off Muhammad Musa as he took possession of a record held for 73 years by English great Wally Hammond.
Wally Hammond reached the mark in 131 innings, on the other hand, Steve Smith, who played his first Test nine years ago, achieved the milestone in his 126th. Virender Sehwag, the former Indian cricketer, is the third-fastest in 134 innings.
Steve Smith also passed the record of the legendary Bradman’s 6,996 Test runs. While Don Bradman made the record in only 52 innings, on the other hand, Steve Smith achieve it in only 70 tests.
