India vs England: MS Dhoni took charge as Virat Kohli skipped practice

MS Dhoni has stepped down as India’s limited-overs captain but he is still still the guiding force for Team India on the field. In the first matches of the ongoing ODI series, Dhoni was seen instructing fielders and bowlers from behind the stumps.

According to reports, India’s captain Virat Kohli skipped the practice session and MS Dhoni took charge of team affairs during the practice session, which lasted about two hours in Kolkata.

After the completion of practice session, MS Dhoni also inspected the pitch from the area where only captain and coach are allowed to enter. Dhoni was also seen in discussion with national selector and former Bengal captain Devang Gandhi. Reports also suggest captain Kohli and coach Anil Kumble didn’t attend the session and only a few cricketers took part in it.

The likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuvraj Singh, Lokesh Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya also didn’t attend the practice session.
