India vs England 2016: Jake Ball has a special plan to stop Virat Kohli

England’s fast bowler Jake Ball said in an interview that he would use short ball to stop Virat Kohli from scoring too many runs in the second ODI in Cuttack. Jake Ball threatened to use short balls against Kohli, who scored a match-winning hundred in the first match in Pune. Virat Kohli hasn’t showed any weakness against short delivery but Ball still believes that he can trouble Kohli with short-pitched stuff.

“I think that under the lights where it may skid on a bit more – you can use the shorter ball a little bit more… But I think it’s just trying to mix it up as much as you can… try not to let him get settled and hope he hits one up in the air,” Jake Ball told BBC Radio 5 live.

India’s opening batsman KL Rahul laughed off Jake Ball’s short-ball threat. Rahul said that Kohli has scored a lot of runs off short balls and he will not give too much importance to such threats.

“Good luck for them, he has so many runs. He has scored a lot of runs off short balls. We are not at all worried about short balls,” KL Rahul said.

“We like to make runs off short deliveries. Knowing Virat and having watched him score so many centuries, I don’t think it will be a problem,” he added.
