India’s spinner Jayant Yadav came in to bat at number 9 in the first innings of the ongoing fourth Test and scored his first ever Test hundred. Jayant Yadav, who is now India’s third spinner in Test cricket, is also a very good batsman. So far, he has batted at no. 9 position or lower, but looking at his performances, he will soon be promoted up the order.
Jayant Yadav batted for 204 balls and scored 104 runs. Throughout his innings, Jayant showed good technique and patience, and supported his captain Virat Kohli brilliantly. It was Virat and Jayant’s partnership that put India in a very strong position.
When Jayant Yadav reached his first Test hundred, it was a very special moment and all the players in India’s dressing room stood up and applauded his effort. But the best applause came from India’s captain Virat Kohli, who was watching and guiding Yadav from the other end. Watch it here:
