Ajinkya Rahane is one of the finest slip fielders in world cricket at the moment. But, in the ongoing series between India and England, Rahane dropped a few catches and wasn’t at his best in the first two matches.

In the second innings of the third Test in Mohali, Ajinkya Rahane took an absolute stunner to dismiss England’s Joe Root. Ravindra Jadeja bowled a good flighted delivery that turned away from Root and took his edge that went straight to first slip, where Ajinkya Rahane dived to his left and took a one-handed catch that you would want to watch over and over again.

Ajinkya Rahane showed good reflexes and athleticism to react quickly and hold on to the catch. Root is one of the best batsmen in England and his wicket is always a big one. Root was looking good and setting himself for a big one, but it took a moment of brilliance from Ajinkya Rahane to end his innings. Rahane’s one-handed catch is surely the best catch of the series.
