Virat Kohli Slams WI’s Officials After Ravindra Jadeja’s Controversial Run-Out

West Indies chased down India to win the first ODI and create history at Chepauk, Chennai. Well, after India’s blockbuster win against West Indies in the recently concluded T20I series, the fans are expecting from Men in Blue to continue their winning spree in the ODI series against West Indies. However, things turned out differently and everyone was left stunned.

Shimron Hetmyer was the one who turned the tables for his team and became the star performer from his side. He helped West Indies chase the target of 288 runs. He smashed the Indian bowlers to all the corners of the ground, scoring a massive 139 runs, that included even sixes and eleven boundaries.

Despite WI’s clear victory, Ravindra Jadeja’s run-out became the most talked-about moment from yesterday’s match. It was in the 48th over, when Jadeja was adjudged run-out but no one from WI’s squad appealed. However, Pollard was advised to ask umpires to have a relook at the shot after instructions from WI’s officials.

The on-field umpires then asked the third umpire to have a look and Jadeja was adjudged out. The right decision was made at the end of the day, however, Virat Kohli didn’t like the way officials interfered in the game.

Questioning the officials, Kohli said that he has never seen this happen in cricket. He said:

The people sitting outside cannot tell the fielder and they can’t ask the umpire about reviewing the run-out. I have never seen this in cricket.,”

However, Kieron Pollard has a different stance on Ravindra Jadeja’s run-out. He feels that the right decision was made at the end of the day, thus, disagreeing with Virat Kohli. He said:

“At the end of the day, the right decision was made and that’s the most important thing for me,”

The second ODI of the series will be played in Vizag on Wednesday.
