In the first ODI of the India-Australia series, MS Dhoni was one player who showed that age was just a number. The former Indian captain was at his brilliant best, both in front and behind the stumps. Dhoni smashed a brilliant 79 for India in the first innings, pulling them off a very sticky situation before accelerating later on.

The middle-order batsman’s innings saved the day for India, along with Hardik Pandya as India managed to put a commanding total of 281 after being 3 down for just 11 runs. The two played smartly, along with cameos from Jadhav, Rohit and Bhuvneshwar as India reversed their fortunes. Soon, rain played spoilsport as the Australian team had to chase down 164 in 21 overs.

MS Dhoni at his best again:

MS Dhoni, who is one of the most popular personalities in Chennai thanks to his exploits with the Chennai Super Kings IPL team, continued his love affair with the city by coming out and hurting the Australians from behind the stumps.

First, he took a catch behind the stump to get rid of Stoinis before showing his reflexes to get rid of David Warner and Matthew Wade.

MS Dhoni took a sharp catch off Kuldeep Yadav to get rid of the dangerous Warner and proved that he was still India’s best wicket-keeper by showing off his speed to get rid of Wade. The bowler, Chahal pushed a ball wide to Wade, who was premeditating and Dhoni grabbed it and took the bails off in a flash to get rid of the Australian keeper.
