Former West Indies pacer and cricket expert Ian Bishop is very impressed with SunRisers Hyderabad’s talented batsman Rahul Tripathi as he put up another terrific performance against Mumbai Indians in a must-win game at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.
While Mumbai Indians were already knocked out of the IPL 2022 playoffs race, on the other hand, SRH needed a win desperately in order to stay alive in the tournament. After being asked to bat first, SRH’s in-form opener Abhishek Sharma was dismissed early but Priyam Garg gave the best of the opportunity at the top.
Rahul Tripathi walked out to bat at number 3 and he formed an amazing partnership with Priyam Garg. Both the cricketers smashed the bowlers of the Mumbai Indians to all the corners of the Wankhede Stadium.
Garg and Tripathi added 78-runs, however, the SRH’s run flow was brought to a halt when Priyam Garg was dismissed by Ramandeep Singh. Rahul played a crucial knock of 76 runs off 44 balls. His knock was laced with 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Meanwhile, Rahul has been receiving praises from all corners for his terrific knock. From cricketers and experts to fans, everyone took to Twitter to hail the brilliance of the young talent. Among many, former cricketer and expert Ian Bishop also took to his official Twitter handle and extended his support towards Rahul for international cricket. He wrote:
“Rahul Tripathi for International cricket,,,,,,it’s time!,,,,”

Later, after the match, SRH captain Kane Williamson heaped praises at Rahul as he hailed him as a ‘special player’. He said:
“He’s (Tripathi) a seriously special player, he comes out and takes the momentum away. Have seen a number of times in this competition. He always bowls quick, which is obviously a strength and weapon for our side. Got an amazing skill set which if he can channel, he can turn a match as we saw. “
