Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is pretty confident that the Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma will bounce back strongly and feels that the MI opener has got some bad luck as a reason for his slump in the ongoing IPL 2022.
In 11 innings, Rohit has managed only 200 runs at an average of 18.18 – as many as 7 Mumbai Indians players have a better batting average than Rohit’s so far – and has struck at only 125.
He seemed to have got into his groove against Gujarat Titans when he came out with intent and smashed 43 runs from 28 balls. Sharma, however, was dismissed for just 2 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders – but a controversy sparked when after being given not out by the on-field umpire, the decision was overturned by the third umpire who saw a spike amid a number of other spikes on the Ultraedge.
There was no noise when the ball passed the bat and Sharma looked perplexed when he was given out. This once again showed that technology is not 100 percent accurate, with fans claiming that Sharma was really unlucky to have been deemed out by the third umpire.
Yuvraj Singh also felt that the Mumbai Indians captain hasn’t had the rub of the green. The southpaw expressed his confidence in Sharma’s ability to turn this rut around and once again bat like the Hitman he is.
“Hitman !! Is having some bad luck . @ImRo45 something big is coming !!!stay in a good space,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians, who had registered two consecutive wins after losing their first 8 matches, failed to chase down the target of 166 against KKR, falling short by 52 runs.
A “disappointed” Rohit Sharma conceded that it was a “poor” show from the batsmen and the pitch wasn’t a difficult one to bat on. He lamented MI batters not being able to patch up partnerships to take the game deeper.
