IPL 2022: These Tweets Show That Devon Convoy Is CSK’s New Hero

Sensational New Zealand batter Devon Conway has been making a lot of news lately, all thanks to his terrific performances in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, playing for Chennai Super Kings.

Though, Chennai Super Kings is enduring one of the worst seasons in IPL history, but Devon Conway has turned out to be the silver lining in the dark clouds. Currently, CSK is sitting at 9th position in the IPL 2022 points table with 6 points, having lost 7 off 10 games they have played so far.

Conway was roped in by Chennai Super Kings at his base price of INR 1 Crore. He has been regarded as one of the smartest buys of the auction.

Filling the shoes of Faf du Plessis was not going to be a smooth ride for Conway. He kickstarted the IPL 2022 as CSK’s opener, however, he has dropped from the side post a low score against KKR. He then went back for his wedding and spent time outside the bubble. Though, he didn’t get much time to get himself acclimatized to the IPL, he has still managed to smash back-to-back half-centuries.

Not just this, in the ongoing season so far, Conway has proved that he has the strokes to match his steel too. From driving the ball through extra cover to attacking the spinners, he has shown that he can walk into tough situations and leave a mark on his performance.

As Chennai Super Kings is currently locking its horns against Delhi Capitals in the ongoing game, Devon Conway smashed another half-century. He struck his half-century off just 27 deliveries. He has become only the third CSK player to score 3 consecutive half-centuries. He has amassed 231 runs off the 4 games he has played so far for CSK, with the highest score of 87 runs.
