IPL 2022: Here’s How Ranveer Singh Celebrated Rohit Sharma’s Six

Here’s How Ranveer Singh Celebrated Rohit Sharma’s Six: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was in full flow, at his fluent best on Friday against the Gujarat Titans. Sharma, who had been struggling to find proper timing and spine in his game so far, brought on his best against a strong Titans bowling attack and recorded his best score of the season – 45 from 28 balls, thumping 5 classy boundaries and a couple of jaw-dropping sixes.

One of those sixes, against Mohammed Shami, got everyone in the crowd to stand up on their feet and jump, including Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh who was there to cheer his adopted city, Mumbai.

Donning a typical Ranveer Singh attire – which less explained the better – the energetic actor had his hand up pointing upward to the sky before fist-pumping his right hand in the air after Sharma had lapped Shami over fine leg for a maximum.

It was a pre-meditated stroke from the MI opener, expecting a full or length ball from Shami, Rohit crouched low and let Shami’s pace take the ball all the way over the boundary line, helped by the short boundary at the Brabourne.

Sat amid the crowd, Ranveer Singh was all pumped up after this terrific strike from Ro Hitman Sharma.

Here, check out the actor’s celebration of Rohit Sharma’s six:

Rohit Sharma was a man possessed today as almost single-handedly nailed down the powerplay taking MI to 63/0 against one of the best bowling attacks in the tournament.

In the 9 previous innings, he registered 5 scores of 10 or less. And while in the other four, he had gone past 25 but wasn’t as fluent as he looked today; in fact, this was perhaps his most fluent knock in the past two seasons.

Rohit middled almost everything, until he was dismissed with a shocking failed attempt of a reverse sweep against the best T20 spinner in the world, Rashid Khan.

Sharma defended the in-form Mohammed Shami’s first over solidly before taking down Alzarri Joseph – a boundary over extra cover, a guided outside edge towards thirdman, and completed the over with a trademark pull shot sixer. Even Shami then was sent for runs, smartly lapped over fine leg. Joseph came for another round and was again sent for a couple of fours.

Forced by this mauling of his pacers, Hardik Pandya brought on his trump card, Rashid Khan. MI had planned well as Rashid was taken care of by Ishan Kishan who played two crispy boundaries messing with Pandya’s plans. The GT skipper got his fastest bowler, Lockie Ferguson, who was thumped for a boundary by each of the openers.

This entertainment ended soon after the powerplay with Rashid taking out the MI captain. But it provided loads of enjoyment to the fans.

Rohit’s fiery knock at the top setup MI’s total of 177, which they defended by 6 runs and registered their back-to-back victory.
