Ravindra Jadeja’s decision of handing over the captaincy to legendary MS Dhoni proved worthy for the team as CSK defeated SunRisers Hyderabad by 13 runs to register their third win of the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.

CSK channeled their batting innings very nicely, with their young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad coming back into his elements. Ruturaj, who was struggling to score runs in the ongoing season, bounced back into the form and played a stunning knock of 99 runs off just 57 balls, smashing 6 fours and 6 sixes. He was well supported by Devon Conway, who also played a stunning knock of 85 runs. All thanks to the stellar knocks of the opener, CSK posted a target of 202 runs for SRH.
Chasing the target, SRH got off to a flying start with Abhishek Sharma playing some extraordinary shots, however, he failed to make it big and eventually fall after scoring 39 runs. Chennai was under pressure initially but they picked two wickets off the final deliveries of the Powerplay to take the control back in their favor.

Following this, CSK bowlers made a comeback and the pressure on the scoreboard got the better of the SRH batters. Pooran tried his best towards the end but he was left with an impossible task in hand. Mukesh Chaudhary picked a 4-wicket haul to give a perfect finish to the game.
