The one day which started on a disastrous note for India at Dharamshala has finally come to an end. India would be glad to end the series on a winning note by thumping Sri Lanka at Vizag with 8 wickets to spare.

India won the toss for the first time and put the visitors in to bat. The Lankans after what seemed a great start could only put 215 on the board and given the momentum India was carrying from Mohali it seemed a petite score.
India lost Skipper Rohit Sharma early but then Shikhar Dhawan accepted the onus to get India home. Dhawan stitched a beautiful partnership with Shreyas Iyer who yet again scored an impressive half century. Shikhar remained unbeaten with a marvellous century which was the 12th of his ODI career.
Dhawan joins the 4000 club
Today with this impressive knock Shikhar Dhawan also got to 4000 runs in One Day Internationals. Dhawan became the second fastest Indian to get to 4000 runs in ODIs.
While stalwart batsman Virat Kohli got 4000 runs in 93 innings, Shikhar Dhawan took 95 innings to reach the milestone. He’s been in splendid for in this year and today he hit the 3rd ODI century for 2017.

Shikhar Dhawan was also the highest run getter in the Champions Trophy held in the first half of the year. The opener is going strength by strength across formats to cement his place and add to India’s fortunes.
