Dhoni is unarguably the best cricketing brain in modern day cricket. His knowledge of the game and the awareness are spot on almost every time.

He has owned the DRS like a boss always, so much so that it’s often called the ‘Dhoni Review System’ Dhoni has been always spot on with the Decision Review System and whenever the DRS is to be thought about, teammates look upto Dhoni and go by his advice.

But today in the third ODI between Sri Lanka and India at Vizag Dhoni made a rare mistake in terms of DRS.

Rare mistake with DRS

It was a Kuldeep Yadav delivery that went on to hit the pads of Sadeera Samarawickrama and Dhoni and Kuldeep Yadav went in for a loud appeal. The umpire however seemed unmoved and turned down the appeal. Kuldeep Yadav looked up to MS Dhoni for advice with respect to taking the review.

Dhoni didn’t pay heed to take the review and India hence did not opt for the review. Later the replay suggested that the ball would have gone to hit the stumps and had also pitched in line. Had India taken the review it would have surely reversed the decision and the batsman would have been gone.

But relying on MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma the stand in captain did not go for a review and it turned out to be a blunder from MS Dhoni. Sadeera Samarawickrama was later dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal on the score of 42.
