MI vs PBKS: Mumbai Indians Are Getting Trolled Like Never Before

Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians continued with their disastrous run in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League as they incurred their fifth defeat on the trot. Mumbai Indians got the better of Mumbai Indians, who once again failed to open their account in the team standings.

Though, Mumbai Indians put on a solid fight against the Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings, however, the team couldn’t get over the victory line. The contest was filled with twists and turns as it proceeded like a rollercoaster. Mumbai’s Suryakumar Yadav once again played a stellar knock and he even looked all set to take MI over the victory lines, however, Punjab Kings eventually won the game by 12 runs.

Talking about the game, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. Punjab Kings got off to a flying start with openers Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan adding 97 runs for the first wicket. Mayank Agarwal, who was struggling with the bat lately, played an aggressive knock as he bounced back into the form.

Shikhar Dhawan also played a stellar knock from the other end and scored a 50-ball 70. After the brilliant start, Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan went berserk in the end overs and smashed the MI bowlers to all the corners of the ground. While Jitesh Sharma scored 30 off just 15 balls, Shahrukh smashed 15 runs off just 5 deliveries. All thanks to the brilliant batting performances, Punjab Kings posted a target of 198/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

Replying to this, Mumbai Indians got off to a brilliant start with Rohit Sharma smashing the ball to all the corners of the MCA Stadium in Pune. However, the openers soon perished and the team started to struggle once again.

Mumbai Indians’ young talents Dewald Brevis (49) and Tilak Varma (36) showed immense fighting spirit as they put up an amazing show with the bat. Brevis showcased his batting prowess as he announced his arrival in style with his stunning knock of 49 runs off 25 balls, smashing 4 fours and 5 sixes.

However, they were dismissed in quick succession. Later, the baton was then passed onto the experienced players Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard. Though, SKY put on a solid fight, but he couldn’t take their team home.

Meanwhile, fans on social media are trolling Mumbai Indians mercilessly. Several cricketers and experts also expressed their thoughts on Mumbai Indians’ 5th consecutive defeat.
