Fans React After Umpire Kumar Dharmasena’s Photo Of Going For A Catch Went Viral: With a 6-wicket win in the third ODI on Sunday, Sri Lanka has taken a lead of 2-1 in the five-ODI series.

Australia had started the series on a winning note in the first ODI before the hosts came back in the second – both in Pallekele. The action shifted to Colombo where Dasun Shanaka’s side clinched a winner, chasing down the target of 292 with 9 balls to spare on the back of 137 from opener Pathum Nissanka and 87 from number 3 Kusal Mendis.

The fourth ODI will be played at the same venue on Tuesday with Sri Lanka looking for their first ODI series win over Australia at home soil after 20 years.

Umpire Kumar Dharmasena’s picture goes viral

Earlier Australia had set up a daunting total of 291/6 with the help of captain Finch (62), Travis Head (70*), Alex Carey (49) and Glenn Maxwell‘s cameo (33 off 18).

There was once incident, though, not involving the players but umpire Kumar Dharmasena that got viral and elicited laughter on social media.

The Twitter handle of Cricket.com.au uploaded a funny picture wherein Dharmasena, standing as a square leg umpire, had almost caught the ball after an Australian batsman hit it towards that position. Thankfully, though, Dharmasena let the ball take its natural course.

“Catch! Umpire Kumar Dharmasena looks like he wants to get into the action… Thankfully he didn’t,” cricket.com.au captioned this picture.

Sri Lanka skipper Shanaka praised his players for their exceptional batting performance. Now, his eyes are set on the next two ODIs to create a memorable series win.

“Very good performance by the two youngsters with the bat. It made a difference when we were batting, there was dew, it was coming nicely onto the bat. Didn’t expect it during the toss.
