IPL 2022: 10 Hilarious Memes On Jos Buttler’s Blockbuster Century Against MI

Jos Buttler became the first batsman to hit a century in the IPL 2022 season as he hammered the Mumbai Indians bowlers – barring Jasprit Bumrah – to each corner of the DY Patil Stadium on Saturday afternoon, entertaining the MI partisan crowd.

However, Buttler could have even been dismissed for a duck on the first ball of the match when he shouldered arms to an inswinging delivery from Bumrah, luckily for the Royals opener, it went closely past the off-stump.

Buttler scored 100 runs off 68 balls, his innings laced with 11 fours and 5 towering sixes. But, the English opener had a conscious plan: to see off Bumrah, who has had the wood over him in the past, and tee off against others. That he did.

Against Jasprit Bumrah, Buttler scored 11 runs off 15 balls; Bumrah did manage to bowl him with a yorker, but a little 100 runs late. Against others, the opener smashed 89 runs off 53 balls. That started with tearing into young Basil Thampi, whacking the seamer for 3 sixes and 2 fours in an over; Thampi didn’t bowl more than one over in the game.

Daniel Sams continued with his poor form in the IPL with Buttler stroking a six and two fours off him on either side of ramping Thampi. Next was just sit back and enjoy the show for RR and Buttler fans as he toyed with Murugan Ashwin – a six over extra cover, a reverse sweep.

Called upon to complete Thampi’s over, Pollard too was disdainfully taken to the cleaners by Buttler. Tymal Mills escaped Buttler’s wrath, though, conceding only one four from the Englishman. This assault by the Royals opener helped his side reach a mammoth total of 193, which could have been more if not for Bumrah and Mills’ elite death bowling show in the last two overs.

Having the first game due to poor bowling, Mumbai Indians again were left behind in the first innings of this match because of their bowlers. Fans mocked the 5-time champion, and hailed Buttler, who is actually their former player, for his dazzling century.
