Fantasy Cricket Tips for KKR vs PBKS: Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings, two teams that boast a spate of power-hitter and have an intent-filled batting approach, will collide on Friday for Match 8 of IPL 2022, at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
After winning their first game against CSK, KKR were downed by RCB in a low-scoring thriller. Head coach Brendon McCullum, though, was content with the batters looking to attack and rattle the bowlers, not afraid to risk their wickets.
PBKS, too, played a dynamic brand of cricket as they gunned down a mammoth target of 206 runs against RCB, with an entire over to spare.
Venue: Wankhede Stadium
Two matches have been played so far at the Wankhede and both have had a similar script: fast bowlers getting wickets with the new ball, and the chasing team winning both contests as dew makes their job easier.
Fantasy cricket tips for CSK vs LSG:
KKR will continue to miss the services of Pat Cummins and Aaron Finch; the duo will be available to play after April 5, adhering to Cricket Australia’s contract.
KKR also have a worry about Andre Russell’s fitness: Russell sustained a sore shoulder during the game against RCB while diving at the boundary; he also seemed in discomfort while bowling the last over.
KKR are expected to stick with the same line-up unless Russell is unfit to play. In that case, Chamika Karunaratne or Mohammad Nabi could get a game.
KKR predicted XI: Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana, Shreyas Iyer (c), Sam Billings, Sheldon Jackson (wk), Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy
The Punjab Kings’ bowling has been given a major boost as Kagiso Rabada is available for the game and will slot in for either Harpreet Brar or Sandeep Sharma. They will, however, be without the option of choosing Nathan Ellis, Jonny Bairstow; Bairstow has landed in India and is in quarantine.
PBKS predicted XI: Mayank Agarwal (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Liam Livingstone, Bhanuka Rajapaksa (wk), Shahrukh Khan, Odean Smith, Raj Bawa, Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, Sandeep Sharma, Rahul Chahar
Fantasy cricket tips: Umesh Yadav has the third-most wickets in the powerplay since 2018 and his partnership with Tim Southee, who has also improved his death bowling markedly, makes a strong combination.
With Russell unlikely to bowl his four overs, Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer could be seen bowling; this also makes Russell not a safe captaincy option anymore. Odean Smith, on the other hand, will bowl 3-4 overs and showed his hard-hitting abilities against RCB; he could be a good captain in your fantasy team.
Also, Kagiso Rabada is the highest wicket-taker in the death overs since IPL 2019 with 45 wickets in 63.4 overs. Nitish Rana’s off-spin could be used against Dhawan and Rajapaksa.
Based on the above fantasy cricket tips, this is the best CSK-LSG team on Dream XI:
Wicket-keeper: Bhanuka Rajapaksa
Batsman: Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal, Shreyas Iyer
All-rounder: Andre Russell, Liam Livingstone, Odean Smith (vc)
Bowler: Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Kagiso Rabada (C), Rahul Chahar
