Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) kickstarted their IPL 2022 season with a new wicketkeeper — Sheldon Jackson. With their former keeper Dinesh Karthik moving to Royal Challengers Bangalore, KKR handed the responsibility of keeping to Saurashtra’s superstar player Sheldon Jackson.
Sheldon Jackson impressed one and all with his lightning-fast stumping as he effected a brilliant stumping of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Robin Uthappa in KKR’s first match. Sheldon’s swift work behind the stumps gained him praises from all around and it even reminded cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar of the legendary keeper and captain MS Dhoni.
As KKR is locking its horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore in their second match of IPL 2022, Sheldon Jackson once again stole all the limelight as he once again created a moment of magic with his brilliant glovework behind the stumps to dismiss Sherfane Rutherford.
The incident took place during the second ball of the 17th over. Sheldon Jackson was standing so wide of the off-stump accounting for Southee’s over the wicket angle and his off-cutter. The ball was dipping in front of him but he dived in to take a great low catch. Jackson now has 2 brilliant moments with the gloves in 2 matches he played so far for KKR.
