IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals Paid An Emotional Tribute To Shane Warne

Rajasthan Royals paid an emotional tribute to their ‘first royal’ Shane Warne in their first game of the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. The King of Spin, Shane Warne breathed his last on March 4. He was found dead in his hotel in Thailand and had passed away because of a suspected heart attack.

The Australian superstar player is hailed as one of the greatest bowlers to have played the game of cricket. Shane Warne big farewell to his international career in 2007 with a remarkable 708 Test wickets. Following his retirement, Warne was one of the most prominent faces in T20 leagues.

While his exploits in international cricket have been extraordinary, he has also left a great legacy behind him in the Indian Premier League. Warne was the first IPL winning captain as he led Rajasthan Royals to a title win in the inaugural edition in 2008 by defeating tournament favorites Chennai Super Kings, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Now as Rajasthan Royals are playing their first match of the ongoing IPL 2022, Rajasthan Royals paid an emotional tribute to the legendary spinner.

Rajasthan Royals put up a poster of Shane Warne in their dug-out, where the RR squad was sitting. The picture of the post was shared by the official Twitter handle of Rajasthan Royals and since then it has been going viral on social media. The message in the poster read: “Forever the first royal”. Sharing the picture, RR wrote:

“With us, wherever we go.”
