Twitterati Are Stunned After Aaron Finch Went Unsold At The IPL 2022 Auction

Aaron Finch, the T20 World Cup 2021 winning captain of the Australian squad, went unsold on day two of the ongoing IPL 2022 Mega Auction being held in Bengaluru.

On Day 2 of the ongoing IPL 2022 mega-auction, we saw a few players getting new teams. There were a few who went unsold, however, Finch’s case was the most surprising one of them all given that he led the Australian cricket team to their maiden T20 World Cup a few months ago. When his name had popped up for bidding, none of the franchises showed any interest in buying him.

Aaron Finch didn’t have a great time during the T20 World Cup 2021 but that doesn’t take away his accomplishments in the T20I format of the game.

Coming into the mega-auction, Aaron Finch had set his base price to INR 1.5 crore, however, none of the team bought him at that price.

It has to be noted that Aaron Finch had gone unsold in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League too before he was released from Royal Challengers Bangalore. After not getting any buyer in the 2021 edition of the IPL, Aaron Finch had said:

It would have been nice to be playing again. It’s a wonderful competition to be a part of but it wasn’t unexpected that I wasn’t picked up, to be honest. I’d prefer to be playing cricket, but a little bit of time at home won’t be the worst thing,”

Meanwhile, fans took to social media and reacted to the T20 World Cup-winning skipper, Aaron Finch remaining unsold at the IPL 2022 mega-auction.
